One of the hip place and the coolest owner at Pantai Indah Kapuk that I've ever visited. Yes, the name of this restaurant is Cajun Claws, located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, this restaurant aims to bring the real flavors of Louisiana, USA, diners in Jakarta and of course almost everything about this restaurant were imported, even their company logo that was designed by one of designer in New York.
Lucky me and my friends, we’ve got chance to meet one of the owner, Tommy Putra and got so many information from him. I tell you what this guy is so cool, he’s very kind explaining things to us about this restaurant and almost spent of his time just talking and accompanied us, thanks for the delicious foods and very welcome to us Mr. Tommy!
Interior
Drawing inspirations from New Orleans, known for its eclectic mix of food, Cajun Claws now brings diners this unique experience. Serving their seafood in bags drenched in homemade sauces and the food dumped on a grease-proof lined table. Customers enjoy not only the flavors but the unique experience of eating with their hands like a caveman haha. And according to the owners of Cajun Claws, he said that we aim to offer diners the genuine flavors unique to this cuisine. Many restaurants in Jakarta think that Louisiana Seafood depends solely on the presentation, but actually it’s not. It is all about flavors, always have been. And Tommy said “We import all our spices from the US so diners can enjoy what many in the US are enjoying. Our seafood is boiled using the very same spices used in Louisiana, not in plain water. In fact, the boil is made up of many aromatic ingredients like US imported celery and lemons”. When I came to this restaurant it was decorated with the Christmas thing to make you feel warm and comfy. It’s beautiful and I guess everyone pretty excited with Christmas right?

Fried Calamari
For the main course we ordered Alaskan King Crab Legs (Seasonal), Mud Crab (IDR 42k), Crawfish (IDR 40k) and Shrimp (IDR 29k). Before I’m gonna tell you ‘bout the tasted of the main course, I’m gonna tell you that Cajun Claws offers two different sauces for the seafood: The Works and Lemon Pepper. The Works sauce is made using house-blended Cajun spices that consist of 10 secret ingredients of the restaurant. And since the Indonesian like spicy, you could choose your level of spiciness start from mild to extra spicy even you want higher than that until you go nuts maybe, you could just request to waiter/waitress for it. And the second one is The Lemon Pepper sauce, the lemon pepper sauce is made without Cajun spices and the extra zestiness make a great complement to the seafood without the heat. I like both of this sauces but I prefer the lemon pepper. I like the fragrant aroma from the sauce. The Works mild sauce for the crawfish and shrimp, while Lemon Pepper sauce for the King Crab Legs and Mud Crab. The crawfish and shrimp with corn on the cob tasted a lil bit garlicky but delicious.
