Cute Three Lil Huskies in North Pole

Hola! How ya’ guys doin? Well me and my friends just visited North Pole last week, don’t worry because it’s not literally North Pole, just one of cool cafe recently in Pantai Indah Kapuk that named North Pole haha. North Pole is a dessert cafe with a cute three lil husky dogs for their logo and they use gelato for their dessert.

For you who want just to drink and chit chat with your friends, North Pole also served many various beverages such as coffee and tea. When we came to North Pole the cafe was almost closed and we almost didn’t get their service but lucky us there was one good waiter that welcome us to come in haha. The place is not quite big because it only has a small space to build the cafe, but they’ve a room for smoking and non smoking room. For the interior I only took one single photo, a small table with five chairs.

Interior

The interior looks simple in a good way of course, dominating by white color, wooden furniture and some other colors to make the place look bigger. So, we ordered five desserts. The first one is called Smoky Pan (IDR 68k) this one was the North Pole special menu. It consist six flavors of gelato, sorbet and ice cream in a smoky pan with whipped cream and fruity pebbles on the inside. The presentation that they gave it to us looks good in six flavors which were lemon sorbet, chocolemon, bubblegum, raspberry, mango and thai tea. Weird tasted from bubblegum flavor because it tasted like cough syrup.

Smoky Pan

The one that I ordered is called Ferrero (IDR 42.5k) it consist waffle, corn flakes, vanilla gelato and crushed ferrero rocher. This one was heaven, it tasted sweet, crunchy, the waffle was soft and the sweetness was perfect.

Ferrero

And there were two North Pole Cone (IDR 15k cone only, for standard flavor per scoop IDR 25k) that my friends ordered, technically it was the same fruit loops cone just in different flavor. First flavor was salted caramel and the other one was vanilla. didntry thione because it’s kinda disgusting to lick the ice cream for sharing except that is your girlfriend ice cream that you wanna lick haha

North Pole Cone

And the last was Papoy’s Favorite (IDR 37) well it was a creamy pot that consist banana gelato, milk pudding, fruit loops, rice krispies and banana pocky. It tasted exactly like banana, the flavored was thick and good.

Late Dessert at Shirokuma

On 17th December, me and my friends have decided to have a dessert for the night. It feels like we were having Saturday night but sadly it wasn’t. When I came to this place it was crowded but lucky us we still got a seat to sit on.

The place is tiny but this is a good place to have long chit chat with your friends.  I don’t know why they named this restaurant shirokuma because this restaurant doesn’t dominated by white color or that tells anything about white bear.

Interior

In Japanese Shirokuma means White Bear and this restaurant has kinda cute white bear for their logo.

Let’s get to the menu shall we?  We ordered four desserts. First one is called save our snowman 40k, created by the hungry doctor. It consist vanilla ice cream with green tea injection, m&m bottle, mochi and cornflakes on the bottom, kinda too much is it? But it tasted good.

Save Our Snowman

Second one is called chocolate parfait, it consist vanilla ice cream, pocky, shiratama balls, mochi, oreo and same as save our snowman it was layered with cornflakes, this one was delicious, pocky and oreo made a perfect combination for the dessert because these days some restaurant served their dessert combined with oreo, pocky or somethin else, most of it used oreo.

Chocolate Parfait

The third one is called carapop parfait it consist vanilla ice cream with caramel on top and almond inside also not forgot to mentioned the corn flakes in it. I think this one was too sweet to me, a lil bit much sweetness from the ice cream, corn flakes and the caramel, yea but that’s why they call it the dessert right? To prevent that any bad tasted from the main course or from the appetizer maybe.

Carapop Parfait

And the last one is called shiratama parfait it consist matcha ice cream, mochi, red beans and cornflakes for the layer. I must say this one was kinda bad, from the scale one to ten I’m gonna give 5 for this one, because the matcha flavor was just not clicked to me.

Bring The Real Louisiana Flavor in Town!

One of the hip place and the coolest owner at Pantai Indah Kapuk that I've ever visited. Yes, the name of this restaurant is Cajun Claws, located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, this restaurant aims to bring the real flavors of Louisiana, USA, diners in Jakarta and of course almost everything about this restaurant were imported, even their company logo that was designed by one of designer in New York.

Lucky me and my friends, we’ve got chance to meet one of the owner, Tommy Putra and got so many information from him. I tell you what this guy is so cool, he’s very kind explaining things to us about this restaurant and almost spent of his time just talking and accompanied us, thanks for the delicious foods and very welcome to us Mr. Tommy!

Interior

Drawing inspirations from New Orleans, known for its eclectic mix of food, Cajun Claws now brings diners this unique experience. Serving their seafood in bags drenched in homemade sauces and the food dumped on a grease-proof lined table. Customers enjoy not only the flavors but the unique experience of eating with their hands like a caveman haha. And according to the owners of Cajun Claws, he said that we aim to offer diners the genuine flavors unique to this cuisine. Many restaurants in Jakarta think that Louisiana Seafood depends solely on the presentation, but actually it’s not. It is all about flavors, always have been. And Tommy said “We import all our spices from the US so diners can enjoy what many in the US are enjoying. Our seafood is boiled using the very same spices used in Louisiana, not in plain water. In fact, the boil is made up of many aromatic ingredients like US imported celery and lemons”. When I came to this restaurant it was decorated with the Christmas thing to make you feel warm and comfy. It’s beautiful and I guess everyone pretty excited with Christmas right?

Aranciata Rossa

And honestly this is the first time I saw the Alaskan king crab and for the first time I have tasted it.

Frozen Seafood Presentation

The first one came on the table was Cajun Fries (IDR 25k) it tasted good and cheesy since the fries was imported from USA and it contain cheese in it, also served along with thousand island sauce which is make this dish more perfect and will make you become addicted to it.

Buffalo Wings

Fried Calamari (IDR 42k) served with well done doneness, crunchy and good appetizer while you’re waiting for the main course. I guarantee you those four appetizers will boost your appetite for sure!

Fried Calamari

For the main course we ordered Alaskan King Crab Legs (Seasonal), Mud Crab (IDR 42k), Crawfish (IDR 40k) and Shrimp (IDR 29k). Before I’m gonna tell you ‘bout the tasted of the main course, I’m gonna tell you that Cajun Claws offers two different sauces for the seafood: The Works and Lemon Pepper. The Works sauce is made using house-blended Cajun spices that consist of 10 secret ingredients of the restaurant. And since the Indonesian like spicy, you could choose your level of spiciness start from mild to extra spicy even you want higher than that until you go nuts maybe, you could just request to waiter/waitress for it. And the second one is The Lemon Pepper sauce, the lemon pepper sauce is made without Cajun spices and the extra zestiness make a great complement to the seafood without the heat. I like both of this sauces but I prefer the lemon pepper. I like the fragrant aroma from the sauce. The Works mild sauce for the crawfish and shrimp, while Lemon Pepper sauce for the King Crab Legs and Mud Crab. The crawfish and shrimp with corn on the cob tasted a lil bit garlicky but delicious.
